The interview process included three interviews: two phone calls and one in-person meeting. The final interview involved a design challenge where I had to create two visual concepts for Pinterest ads and two new logos for the company. I presented these ideas during the in-person interview. This took me about 10 hours to develop the visuals and presentation. After the presentation, they asked for my working design files to evaluate my design process. I declined to hand over my creative work for free and instead offered to show them relevant parts of my design files during the interview. Specifically, they were interested in whether my design files were structured like templates for easy asset swapping and if I was familiar with Photoshop actions. I demonstrated my understanding of these concepts and then concluded the interview. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job offer two weeks later.

Applied online in late Oct 2023. Got an email in a few days from a recruiter to schedule a screen for later that week. The screen was about 15 mins with atypical questions like salary expectations. About 20 mins after the screen, got another email from the recruiter to schedule a Teams interview with the department manager. Had to schedule it two Mondays out due to company scheduling issues. The first interview was mostly behavioral with some MS Excel technical questions. It lasted about 40 mins and the manager kept it chill. Manager mentioned next steps: interview with senior executive, technical tests, and researching company products. Didn't hear back until Saturday morning (4:36 am!) from a different recruiter to set up the interview with the senior executive. The email was weirdly timed and had my resume with the wrong name, felt like it was being sent to spam on purpose. The second interview (also Teams) was a total waste of time, the worst corporate interview experience. The senior executive seemed totally uninterested and unprepared, asking obvious questions like “Why do you want to work here?” and resume-based ones like “How did you learn Python?” even though the prior interview said they don't use Python. They barely spoke and the interview lasted maybe 10 mins. Got a rejection later that week. This job's been reposted three times since they rejected me, and they didn't seem to properly consider me for what felt like an entry-level role, so I'm sharing this to warn others about their interview process.

The interview process was quite lengthy, but the recruiter was excellent at keeping me informed and was very organized throughout. After initial phone interviews, I had two in-person interviews. The first in-person session was professional and concentrated on assessing my skills and abilities. However, the second set of in-person interviews started with job-related topics but then veered into personal and inappropriate territory for a professional interview. I felt very uncomfortable, and the questions asked were likely not something a male applicant would have been subjected to (e.g., my current relationship status, family structure, personal views, and goals that have no relevance to the job). I spoke with HR afterward, and while they acknowledged my high qualifications, the interviewer perceived me as nervous (though I was actually shocked and uncomfortable) and lacking the 'right personality fit.' They were quick to apologize upon realizing the inappropriate direction some of the interviews had taken. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I'm glad I experienced this to understand what working there might be like.

The interview process was really smooth. It started with a phone screen with HR, where we discussed my background, skills, motivation for joining the company, and interest in the role. Then, I had my first in-person interview at their corporate office with the hiring manager. We covered similar topics as the HR call, and the manager was very knowledgeable and friendly. The following week, I had a series of interviews with seven people, which was quite long but interesting. I met with several members of upper management and the executive team, including the CFO. They asked a variety of questions, and I felt I answered them well. Although I didn't get the job, they offered to discuss the process further in person, which I declined. I was really impressed by the company's operations and how they treat candidates, going above and beyond what most companies do. I appreciated their consistent communication throughout the process.
