Data Analyst
I applied for the Data Analyst II position through the company's website. First, HR gave me a phone screening. Then, I had a panel interview with a senior analyst and the manager. They asked about my SQL and CMS data experience, and my understanding of the job. The interviewers were polite. I waited about a month after the interview to hear back, and then got a rejection email saying their hiring needs changed. It was a bummer after putting in the effort.

Data Analyst
The interview process was really rough, with months of ghosting and bad communication. It started with a 30-minute recruiter call that seemed organized at first, but later turned out not to be. Then, there was a 30-minute video interview with the hiring manager. It took about 3 weeks to get to the final round, which was an hour-long panel interview with the hiring manager, another manager, and two team members. One of the team members, who wasn't supposed to be there, was kind of aggressive. He told me I was wrong after I answered a question and then answered it himself, saying the exact same thing I did. When I asked him to clarify something later, he just answered his own question and logged off. It was weird because he wasn't even there for most of it. The rest of the interview went okay, and everyone else was nice. A couple of months passed with no word, and the recruiter didn't reply to my two emails. I figured I didn't get the job, but some feedback after going through the whole process would have been nice. Months later, another recruiter reached out about a different DA job I'd forgotten about. This recruiter seemed really keen to get me into a role at Centene, but there were some red flags. The new position was the same level as the first one but in a different department. It paid way less than advertised, and less than the first job, with no negotiation. The whole experience was really unenjoyable and felt like a waste of time. I decided Centene wasn't for me and won't be moving forward with the new position. It's disappointing because I was excited about Centene, but after this, I won't be applying again.
- Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Data Analyst
So first there was a phone interview where they asked me about why I wanted the job. Then, I had an in-person interview with a bunch of senior people from the team, plus my future manager and the director. They asked me a lot of technical questions about how I'd approach different things.
- How do you decide which statistical methods are appropriate to use?
