For the Concord facility, the process involved obscure testing that wasn't related to the job. Better management is needed, not inexperienced people. Management doesn't understand how the plant equipment works. It's a shame because the concept is good. I interviewed with an outside company three times. Then I had a phone interview with the company representative. After passing their personality and intelligence tests, I had a one-on-one interview. I returned for another interview and retook the tests from the outside company. They also conducted the most rigorous physical I've ever experienced.

I went through a staffing agency first who reviewed my resume and skills to find a suitable position. Then there was a 45-minute group interview where we discussed the job, potential interview questions, and I had the chance to ask my own. We were asked some candid questions and some required by the company. It's always best to answer questions by connecting them to the job so they can see you in that role. Also, having a personality that matches the company culture is important.

Celgard requires candidates to complete the Wonderlic test and a math test. After that, there's a pre-interview followed by an onsite interview. The interviews consist entirely of behavioral questions, often starting with 'Tell me about a time when...'. The initial interview is typically with a recruiter, and subsequent interviews are with 2 or 3 managers.

It was a group interview with HR, the I & E Supervisor, and a Maintenance Engineer. The vibe was relaxed, and generally, the culture is easygoing, but they still get their work done. Good people, and overall, it wasn't a tough interview.
