Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CEGID.
Ingénieur Commercial
We started with a sales product case study for a pharmacy, then a CV and job overview, followed by an HR interview, and a debrief. After that, I met with the manager to discuss the role. The business case was designed to assess my sales skills, emphasizing the importance of active listening and asking many questions to properly qualify the project.
- How would you sell shower gels to pharmacies?
Sales Engineer
It took two and a half months. Phone calls with an external agency, video calls with a consultant, a business case to prepare for a video call with a Sales Manager, a second video call with a Sales Manager. An HR person is involved in scheduling. A call with the regional director... It was quite organized but long. Many people to talk to. It's hard to stay focused when you're applying to other companies too. They talk about performance, results, and rewards, but the sales package doesn't include a company car. You'll need to use your personal vehicle to find new clients (cost-saving?!). Generally, they didn't stick to the timelines for updates. I had to follow up multiple times to know what was happening. It felt like the candidate was already chosen, even though the agency said otherwise... The process needs to be smoother and stick to the deadlines. They also didn't respect the deadlines for providing updates.
- Tell me about your successes and failures?
Sales Engineer
After applying, I quickly heard back from an RPO consultant handling recruitment for CEGID. We had a friendly 15-minute chat about my background, followed by a more in-depth call a few days later. Everything seemed good until I heard nothing for weeks, despite trying to follow up. I was completely ghosted, even though the consultant was supposed to get back to me soon. It felt like a huge lack of respect and consideration, which definitely put me off. After more than a month, the consultant reached out again to offer continuing the recruitment process, which I accepted. CEGID has ambitious projects and great products, but I'm not convinced by how the recruitment process and the manager interaction went.
- What do you think you can bring to our company?
