First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CDS (Club Demonstration Services).
Sales Advisor
I saw a job posting for a Part-time Sales Advisor on the CDS website and went for a walk-in interview which they hold every Wednesday. I talked to the manager about the role, and she explained the job, duties, responsibilities, and how everything works. A few days later, I went in again for the interview with her.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What is your availability?
- Are you able to work on weekends?
Sales Advisor
The interview wasn't stressful, it felt more like a casual chat. The manager was really informative and made sure to cover everything so there wouldn't be any surprises later on.
- How would you approach closing a sale with a hesitant customer?
Sales Advisor
My interview was pretty standard, with easy questions. The managers were really nice and welcoming. They showed me a couple different products from the day's demos and asked which parts of the package I thought consumers would find most important. They also asked if I had food allergies since demos often involve food or scented items. After a few questions, they asked about my availability and start date. Then, I watched WHIMIS videos and did the multiple-choice questions on the computer. I was offered the job right after and started the next day.
- When presenting product summaries to club members to generate interest, what product knowledge do you think is most crucial to emphasize?
- Do you have food allergies?
- What is your availability?
