Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CDM Smith.
Planner
I applied online and they got back to me in a few weeks. Then I had a Teams call with the office manager I'd be working under and also a planner.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience as a transit planner?
Planner
It was a pretty straightforward process. Started with an initial phone call, and then there were two more calls before the in-person interview. The team really wanted to make sure I was a good fit. The questions were mostly technical, but they also wanted to understand how I work within a team.
- Can you describe a time when you learned from an experience and what were the key takeaways?
Planner
I interviewed with CDM Smith. Got an email and call from HR about 2 weeks after applying online. After some initial questions with their HR, I was set up for an interview the following week with a senior office staff member over the phone since I wasn't a local candidate. The interview lasted about an hour. They mostly asked about my current job and how my experience matched their requirements.
- What are your salary expectations?
