They had a first round where you record yourself giving answers to pre-recorded questions and a second-round, live interview. In the second round one, the interviewer started off the interview by saying they were at the very end of the hiring process and all the internship positions were basically full already, which is exactly what you want to hear before an interview that you've prepared for and are excited about. I felt like I was killing it but she was completely disinterested (didn't even look at me the entire time I was speaking to her) and didn't really give me anything to work with. Overall, it was clear that she was simply going through the motions and wasn't

After submitting my application at a job fair, I was invited for an interview a couple of weeks later. It turned out to be a group interview with about 10 candidates and one interviewer. We had to complete a grammar test and a current events questionnaire. The interviewer then collected our test results, recommendation letters, resume, and cover letter. After that, each person was interviewed individually in front of the group. I think it's important to show enthusiasm and discuss skills from previous experiences. Some people without prior news jobs were offered internships, so confidence in your skills is key.

I applied on the CBS website and they reached out before the application deadline for an online interview. This interview had some multiple-choice questions and then some video responses to open-ended questions. You get a minute to prep and two minutes to answer. It wasn't super hard, but might be a bit tricky if you haven't done this kind of interview before.
