First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CBG Building Company.
Superintendent
First, there was a phone call intro interview. Then, you go into the office for an interview with 8 people. Each person has their own questions and talking points. If they like you, they'll call you back for another interview in person to offer you the job.
- Did you have actual experience in the roles? (asked through direct construction questions)
Intern
First, I did a brief introduction of myself. Then, the interviewer introduced himself and gave me some information about the company. After that, he asked me some questions, and then I asked him some questions. The whole process was pretty simple and straightforward.
- How do you think you can apply what you learned from your previous job to this current position?
Project Engineer
I first got connected with CBG at a college career fair where I had an initial interview. After that, I was invited to their main office for a second round of interviews. This second part was all one-on-one, and I met with several members of Senior Management individually. They were all very nice and professional. What really stood out to me and made me want to join the company was how much they emphasized their commitment to my career development, rather than just focusing on what I could do for them.
- What aspects of the construction industry do you find appealing, and what aspects do you find unappealing?
Project Engineer
First interview was a general one, and then there was a follow-up after a phone call. It was a quick 'get to know you' type of interview, and the supervisor asked specific questions about how an employee should handle different situations. I'm not sure if others had the same experience.
- Would you help a colleague with their project task if it meant it would interfere with your ability to complete your own project tasks?
