First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cbeyond.
Sales Executive
First, you'll chat with a recruiter at their office, just a general talk about your past work and if you're a good fit. Be ready for some sales-related questions and also some STAR method ones. Then, you'll come in for a whole day with the team leader and manager. After that, you'll spend a day out in the field doing sales stuff, like prospecting. When you get back, you'll have a group interview with both supervisors to go over how your field day went. Expect questions about any tough parts of the field experience and how you'd handle them.
- The hardest part of the field trial prospecting is X. Can you give it a try by yourself?
Account Executive
I had two phone interviews before I came in for my "field day." I spent the day with the team I'd be joining to get a sense of the meetings, the in-office training, and what a typical day in the field looks like. I actually went out and knocked on doors and gave my impromptu sales pitch. By the end of the day, I interviewed with my potential manager and the VP of Sales for the branch. They said they'd call me with the results the next business day.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered a challenge and had to overcome it?
- Share an experience where you put in maximum effort but ultimately failed. What were the reasons for the failure, and what did you take away from it?
Sales Executive
The interview process consisted of an initial phone screening, followed by a one-on-one meeting with the branch recruiter. Next, there was a field day alongside a sales representative, and the process concluded with a final interview with the VP. Upon successful completion, an offer was extended, which included a mandatory week-long corporate training in Atlanta. This training is known to be very demanding and covers a large amount of information. The expected work schedule is from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends off. This is an outside sales role that involves significant rejection, so resilience is key to succeeding.
- What makes you want to join Cbeyond?
- Describe your approach to dealing with rejection.
