First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Catalent Pharma.
Manufacturing Associate
I had a two-part interview. First, an HR person called to see if I was a good fit and had the right qualifications. Then, I met the hiring manager in person to talk about my technical background, what's expected in the job, and how I'd fit in at the site.
- Are you familiar with Six Sigma?
Manufacturing Associate
There were 1-2 phone interviews before a video interview with 2 of the hiring managers. The first 1-2 phone calls were about 15-30 minutes and mostly went over the job description, my experiences and questions. The video interview was about 30 minutes and was pretty much the same as the phone interviews but with more specific info.
- Can you provide an example of when you've shown leadership?
- Do you have experience working under cGMP or aseptic conditions?
- Can you describe a situation where you collaborated effectively with a team?
Manufacturing Associate
I applied online and got an email almost immediately to schedule a phone interview. The recruiter and I talked two days later for about 20 minutes about my background. Then, we set up an hour-long interview with managers for the following week. I drove 7 hours to get there, and they put me up in a hotel the night before. My interview was scheduled for 2:30 PM the next day, but the hotel checkout was at 11 AM, which was inconvenient. When I arrived for the interview, I was put in a small room. A manager showed up late, apologized, and mentioned the other managers were busy. She then described the job, which turned out to be for Associate I, not the Associate II position I applied for, and paid less. When I asked about this discrepancy, she said another manager usually handles that but was unavailable. She then asked some very standard interview questions. After about 10 minutes, she left to see if anyone else was coming and returned shortly, stating they were still busy and she would just show me out. The entire interview lasted less than 15 minutes out of the scheduled hour. I drove 7 hours back home. A week later, I received a generic email saying they chose another candidate and suggested I look at their other job postings.
- Under what management style do you perform best?
- Are there any restrictions that would prevent you from working early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, or holidays?
- Can you list three of your strengths and provide an example of when you utilized them?
