Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Catalent Pharma.
Senior Scientist
First, there was a phone interview with HR. Then, I had a team interview with the Hiring manager. Finally, I went for an onsite interview where I met with three team members and the hiring manager. During the onsite, they talked about the job and where the company stands now. Some questions were asked, including ones about technical skills.
- Can you walk me through your CV?
- Could you elaborate on your past work experience?
- What are your thoughts on teamwork?
Scientist
Had a phone interview that went well. Scheduling the in-person was difficult, I had to follow up multiple times. The in-person interview itself was poorly handled, starting late due to the front desk ignoring me. I was in a room for about 3 hours, asked mostly the same questions by 5 different people, and wasn't offered water until the 4th person. The interviewer from the phone screen acted differently in person. HR seemed to be trying to disprove negative Glassdoor reviews. I didn't get a lab tour, which was strange. The whole in-person part felt off. HR took three weeks to get back to me about a lower position/offer. It took two more months to get a rejection letter. This place is dysfunctional and expects too much for little pay and poor advancement.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered conflict and how you handled it?
Scientist
Had a phone interview with the recruiter which was really detailed and gave me a good vibe about the company. Then, a week later, I had a 3-part, one-and-a-half-hour 1-on-1 interview in person. It was a pretty relaxed and comfortable environment. They were really informative and transparent, explaining the role's expectations and responsibilities. Everyone was punctual. The questions they asked were pretty standard interview questions. Since it's a smaller place, everyone seemed to know each other personally.
- Can you describe your approach to prioritizing tasks?
