First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Catalent Pharma.
Senior Manager
I had an online video call to assess my competencies and skills. Unfortunately, I never heard back after that. There wasn't even a basic automated email to let me know the selection process had concluded and I wasn't chosen.
- Can you introduce yourself, talk about your leadership style, and highlight your competencies?
Management Role
The face-to-face interview lasted 4.5 hours and involved 4 separate interviews with 4 different people. The interviewers didn't seem to have a structure or coordination, leading to repetitive and ad-hoc questions. Two senior leaders showed up unprepared, with one even wearing a jumper and jeans. All interviewers were male. The communication was very friendly and casual. Some questions asked were quite strange and possibly illegal, like commenting on my travel method ('I was surprised that you came by taxi'), asking about my nationality, and inquiring about my length of stay in the UK ('how long have you been in the UK'). The advertised job description didn't seem to align with the actual role they were trying to fill. The senior management team came across as indecisive, disorganized, and lacking leadership qualities. It's concerning that the company doesn't keep interview notes or proper records. They also don't follow through on their commitments. I received feedback after 1 month and 11 days. The recruitment team lacks candidate management skills, adopting a 'hide the head in the sand' approach and failing to keep candidates informed to manage expectations. Overall, the entire process felt shambolic and potentially illegal.
- Could you state your nationality please?
- I was surprised that you came by taxi
- how long have you been in the UK
Management Trainee
They treat you kindly, it seems they are looking for people with attitude over aptitude. I would have liked to get in but unfortunately, I couldn't even though I met the requirements by far.
- What about your previous work experiences and what are your expectations for the future?
