Director
The interview process was underway, and I completed three video interviews without yet speaking to the hiring manager. I was then informed I would advance to the final round, which required me to deliver a presentation to a panel, including the hiring manager I had not spoken to. This should have been my indication. Upon logging into the video conference, the hiring manager was absent. As I concluded, I heard the hiring manager's voice for the first time, stating, 'I already saw your presentation,' and asking if I had questions. This was quite rude. To have someone invest time in creating a presentation and then not attend the call is disrespectful. The HR department did maintain communication and follow up effectively, but this experience foreshadowed what it might be like working under that manager. Ultimately, it was fortunate I did not receive an offer, given the complete waste of my time.

Director
It was a painful and long process. The HR person was great, very responsive and the only positive interaction. I spoke with 3-4 employees before moving to a presentation panel with the hiring manager and 4 others. I had to give a 45-minute slideshow presentation and discuss an RFP, putting in a lot of effort. I was concerned about sharing proprietary info from my current job. After the panel, I had another meeting with the hiring manager who said I wasn't a fit, which felt pointless after the panel thought I was qualified. She was new and couldn't explain the gaps. It felt like a huge waste of time and unprofessional given the ask. They reached out to me, but I don't think they were serious about hiring or knew what they wanted, making it hard to show my value.
- Have you previously mentored or supported a team of Directors?
Director
Interviewed across different teams. They really looked at my technical skills and how quickly I could start contributing. It was all about the results. I liked how open they were and how deep the interviews went with everyone. The team seems great and they seem to really care about each other, you can feel it when you're on campus.
