First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cash Store.
Assistant Manager
I got a call from the District Manager to set up an interview. When I called back, I could only talk to a part-time employee. When I got to the store for the interview, the District Manager was already interviewing someone else. I waited about 20 minutes. The interview started, and the District Manager said they had to leave in 10 minutes, so I only had five minutes for the interview. They asked one question and then had to leave. A part-time employee finished the interview and gave me a skills test. It felt like my interview was an inconvenience.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Assistant Store Manager
I put in my application online and then got a call right away to schedule an interview. The interview took place in the store, at a table near the front where everyone could see and hear. It was a bit distracting because you could hear everyone else too, but the good part was getting to see firsthand how the store operates. The interview was pretty standard, asking about past difficult situations and whether I prefer working alone or with a team. After the interview, they offered me the job on the spot. Since I'm changing careers and had other interviews lined up, I asked for a few days to decide. They said that was fine, as long as I let them know by the end of the week.
- Tell me about a time you handled a difficult situation.
- Do you prefer working independently or collaboratively?
Associate
I sat down with the store manager who asked me questions from a specific form. They wrote down my answers, asked for some elaboration, explained a few things and then said they'd contact me after interviewing all other candidates. However, I've never heard back.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a customer problem at your previous job and how you solved it.
Customer Service Representative
The interview was easy, mostly a friendly chat where I explained my previous experience. They also asked about my availability and said they'd schedule me within that. But, they ended up scheduling me for a time outside of what I told them I was available for.
- Can you tell me about your past customer service experience?
