Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Caseware.
Software Developer
First, an HR call to go over my general qualifications. Then, a manager interview where they asked me behavioral questions. Lastly, a technical interview where I was asked C++ and C# questions. They weren't super hard but definitely required some thought. They also had me do a live coding exercise. The problem wasn't too simple or too difficult.
- What would you do if a conflict came up at work?
- How would you handle workplace conflict?
- Tell me about your overall qualifications.
Software Developer
The interview process started with a 1.5-hour written test that included short programming tasks and other technical questions. After passing that, I had a 2-hour face-to-face interview. I was told they wanted to extend an offer, but the initial offer did not meet my salary expectations. They mentioned they would get back to me, but never did, despite multiple follow-up emails. The HR department is very slow to respond, often requiring 2-3 emails before replying, and they typically forget about things for weeks after saying they'll respond in a day or two. While the interviewers were pleasant, the HR side of things was quite frustrating. I would suggest looking for opportunities elsewhere to save yourself time and effort.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
- Let's go over the questions from the written test.
Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out to me, and we talked about my salary expectations. Once we were on the same page, they set up a virtual chat to go over my technical background. They said I did great, so they planned a technical interview. I waited a few weeks, but nothing was scheduled, so I followed up. I never heard back from them though.
- Can you discuss your past work experiences?
- Can you discuss your current work experiences?
