Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cascadia Capital.
Investment Banking Analyst
Had 4 calls in total, split across 2 rounds. The interviews were half behavioral and half technical. The first round was with analysts, and the second round was with associates. It wasn't overly complex, with a lot of questions about culture fit, why middle-market, and specific things about the firm.
- Can you explain Net Working Capital?
- What are the circumstances under which you would choose Debt over Equity?
- Walk me through a Leveraged Buyout (LBO).
Investment Banking Analyst
I reached out to an investment banker who is an alumni, and we had a great conversation. Then, my resume was forward to the recruiter. After a few days, I got invited to the first round interview and an interview with 2 sessions. I met with an analyst and an associate.
- Tell me why Cascadia, what is the accounting for it?
- What are the three financial statements?
- What are the major valuation methodologies and their pros and cons?
Investment Banking Analyst
Had multiple phone interviews but then never heard back. Most of the interviews were with entry level employees who seemed very apathetic. Several times I felt I answered a technical question about finance correctly and then the interviewer regarded my answer as wrong and then wouldn't explain why it was considered wrong. Was very strange.
- Can you list the three primary financial statements?
