Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cascade Energy.
Project Engineer
First up was a phone screen call. Then, I had an interview with HR, and finally, I interviewed with the Hiring Manager and the team.
- Tell me about your past experiences and how they relate to this role.
- Can you discuss your technical skills and knowledge relevant to this position?
- What are your thoughts on the responsibilities of this job position?
Project Engineer
I applied online and got a phone screen pretty fast, within a couple days. Then there was a second phone interview which took a while to schedule, and then I got rejected. HR was nice but didn't really explain why I was rejected.
- Can you share some general questions about your experience and challenges in past positions?
- How would you handle future situations based on your experience?
Project Engineer
First, I had a phone chat with someone. Then, I had to send in my college transcript, some writing samples, and complete an Excel task. After that, I did a video interview with 6 people. Finally, there was a one-on-one video call to go over the "day in the life" stuff. It's important to know that this job involves a lot of dealing with hard-to-please or unwilling customers, and in the interviews, they really want to know how persuasive you are and if you can win them over. They didn't mention this part at all in the job ad or during the first phone screen.
- Can you share examples of times you've had to deal with challenging or uncooperative customers?
- Tell me about a time you successfully convinced someone to see your point of view or take a certain action.
