Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CARVANA.
Recruiter
The interview process started with a phone screen where some basic questions were asked, and overall it was a good chat. Then, after a week or so, I had a video interview with someone who seemed totally uninterested. They didn't ask much and expected me to lead the whole call. Another week passed before the third interview, also a video call. The interviewer was late and had technical issues, so we had to switch to a phone call. A week later, I got a voicemail saying they weren't moving forward.
- Can you tell me about the metrics you've managed in past positions?
Senior Recruiter
I was contacted by a recruiter first. We chatted briefly, and then talked about how I would recruit for specific roles. After that, I had interviews with a territory manager, a talent acquisition manager, another senior recruiter, and one more territory manager.
- What are your thoughts on recruiting metrics?
Corporate Recruiter
I had a phone call with a recruiter, then they scheduled me for an in-person interview. I was supposed to talk to four people, but the first two meetings ran over, taking 90 minutes total. They asked about my past experience and the role itself, plus some regular questions. Following that, I had a second in-person interview.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What are some standard questions you like to ask candidates?
- What's prompting your decision to leave your current job?
