Started with a call with a recruiter who was professional and engaging, had a good feeling about it. Next, I was supposed to have an interview with field management, but they cancelled it 3 hours beforehand. It got rescheduled for the next week with someone else in the field. This interviewer seemed confused about my application and didn't know they wanted me to manage two markets, which is unusual. He had to call me directly because they didn't set up the video conference for me. Even though it's a new company and I didn't mind the confusion too much, the interviewer was unprofessional, swearing multiple times.

The process was pretty standard. Started with a recruiter screen, then a call with a Marketing Operations Manager, and then a call with a Regional Manager. The recruiter call was basically a resume walkthrough and an intro to the company. The recruiter was really open and enthusiastic and laid out what to expect next. The call with the Marketing Operations Manager went into more detail about the job and what's expected. The Regional Manager call dug deeper into how you'd fit with the company culture, your leadership approach, and your ability to handle bigger problems and manage people. After that call, I was told I was moving to the final stage, which involved meeting the COO and the founders, either at the Phoenix HQ or another location. Then, after two weeks of no contact, the recruiter got back to me saying the position had been filled. She did say she'd recommend me for another market if I was interested, but I declined. Honestly, felt like a huge waste of my time and everyone else's involved. It also seemed like the company can't really predict its staffing needs, and the recruiting team isn't on the same page as operations.

The interview process was quick and easy, but the compensation offered is significantly below the market average, with a pay band of 90-110k. For context, most senior management roles at other companies start at 125k-140k. Additionally, they require relocation on a yearly basis.
