So first there was this phone interview, it was pretty quick and easy. Then the main event was an in-person at the Tempe headquarters. They give you a tour first, then you do three separate 1-on-1 interviews with leaders from the department. The whole thing took about two hours. The people interviewing were super chill and made me feel really comfortable, which was great for my nerves. Each chat involved them asking some questions, and then you got to ask them stuff back. Definitely ask them a lot of questions! The interviews were pretty basic, though the last one, with a senior person, had a few questions about applying what you know to the job.

The interviewer spent over 30 minutes praising the previous intern and stating that I would need to work hard to match their performance. This felt inappropriate and suggested I would be under constant comparison. Additionally, they neglected to inform me about an upcoming office relocation that would make the commute unfeasible for me.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Carvana in April 2017. The interview process was easy and laid back. It was more conversational than an interview. It started with a pre-screening phone interview followed by two video call technical interviews by the Team members. After that, I came in for an onsite interview with a Director of Business that lasted for an hour. I enjoyed the seamless and well-co-ordinated interview process.
