First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carrier.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
I was told at a career fair that I had a formality phone interview, but then they said I got the job after an on-the-spot interview. They mentioned they would only do a background check and verify personal info. The phone interview was great, but then three months later, they told me I didn't get the job, even though they verbally said I did. It was very frustrating.
- Can you describe a challenge you encountered and explain how you overcame it?
CAE/FEA Engineer
There were three technical interviews over two months. The interviewers were helpful and gave me time and assistance when I needed it. For online interviews, it would be better to have the camera on to boost the interviewee's confidence.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about your past projects?
- Can you discuss your experience with FEA?
Mechanical Engineer
I had 2 phone interviews with Human Resources. They got back to me within 3-4 business days after getting my resume. There were multiple phone calls and emails involved. The HR rep was from out of state. They never got back to me after the second interview, no email or call. Three weeks passed with no word, and I only found out later that the new Engineer Manager was an old manager I worked with years ago who was bad. It makes sense now because of the rude behavior, it was like working with him again. Glad I found out, I wouldn't work for him.
- Could you elaborate on your previous work experience?
- Please detail your educational background.
- Can you discuss your HVAC experience?
