Analyst
So I applied, and within 5 days I had my initial recruiter call and a phone interview with the hiring manager. She really liked me and extended the interview to an hour. She stressed how important analytical skills are, saying you can't teach analytical thinking. She asked me a theoretical question, and I nailed it – she said my answer was exactly what her team came up with. Five days later, I went for an in-person panel interview. I dressed up for it, researched the company, and rescheduled other interviews for this one. I met with five people, each for 30 minutes, starting with the hiring manager. They all had my resume and asked me about my past experience, hypothetical situations, and times I'd faced challenges. Like the first call, 90% of the questions were about analytics. I felt like I answered them all well, and they reacted positively. They mentioned using Excel, Tableau, and SQL, which I'm very experienced with. One interviewer even joked about my suit and tie, saying their office is casual, and showed me his outfit. I agreed to wear a tie less often. He was also impressed with my software certifications, especially Tableau, saying I was the first certified person he'd met. Three days later, I got a rejection email saying they needed someone with a stronger technical background in reporting. Which is crazy because I have 15+ years in Excel (certified), 10+ years in SQL, and 5+ years in Tableau (certified), plus almost 20 years in analytics and healthcare, including 10 years in executive-level reporting with financial data. I feel like this whole process was a waste of time.

Technical Lead, Client Implementations
So I applied for this remote role, Client Implementations Technical Lead. First, I had a phone interview with the HR lead, then another phone interview with the Hiring Manager. After that, it was an in-person interview with the Hiring Manager and two people who would be my potential peers. During the HR call, she mentioned the hiring manager expected one day a week in the office, which I was fine with. But then, during the in-person interview, they said it would be 100% in-office with occasional WFH, which was a bummer. Still, the job was interesting, so I kept going. The in-person interview seemed to go well, with encouraging feedback from the hiring manager and peers. I figured I'd at least get a rejection email or call after putting in so much effort. But I got nothing for two weeks. I emailed the HR rep to ask about a decision timeline, but I didn't even get a response, not even an automated rejection. This was weird because we'd been in almost constant contact before. Overall, a terrible process.

Senior Manager/Director
A recruiter reached out and we talked about my background. After that, I had phone screens with the hiring manager. Then I was invited for an on-site interview. I was a bit turned off by some online reviews, but I saw it as a chance to make a difference at a company that's growing. They arranged my travel for the same day instead of a hotel the night before, which kind of threw me off. When I got there, nobody was at the door at first. Eventually, a customer service person, who I think wasn't wearing shoes, let me in. It felt like they'd already made up their mind or there was a disconnect internally about expectations near the end. For some reason, they didn't seem to want to ask me questions during the process. Later, my recruiter told me the SVP thought I had too much marketing experience and not enough sales, and an analyst doubted my healthcare experience.

Statistical Analyst
I got a call from HR asking about my salary expectations. Then, the HR rep scheduled a follow-up call, but she was 30 minutes late. That conversation was brief and set up an interview with a manager. I then spoke with a manager who asked standard questions. A couple days later, I interviewed with another statistical analyst. Both interviews seemed to go well, but it was tough to get updates afterward. I was eventually told they were still considering other candidates, so I guess I won't be hired.
