Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Care UK.
Receptionist
Donna Bird from Care UK shared her excellent experiences and prioritized my interview in a friendly way, discussing all aspects of the new role.
- What important qualities do you think are needed when being part of a team?
- How would you handle a disruption to your planned day?
- What qualities do you possess that would make you a suitable candidate for this role?
Receptionist
The interview process was really unprofessional from the start. I got a phone call for an interview and was told they'd send confirmation details right away, but I heard nothing all day. I called back the next morning, and someone promised to send info that day. Again, I waited all day with no email until the following morning. Then, I arrived for the interview and waited at reception for an hour without much attention. Seeing the disorganization, I knew I didn't want to work there. Eventually, two tired-looking staff members interviewed me. They complained about how busy and demanding the role is, pointed out its downsides, and shared inside jokes. They asked competency-based questions, took notes, and one copied my documents for a DBS check. The main interviewer didn't say goodbye or explain what happens next.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to assist someone?
- Describe a situation where you made a commitment and followed through with it.
Receptionist
Went to a job interview today at Britten Court care home and the one that was interviewing me was so vindictive, she didn't take my cv to look at what I've got, she kept rolling her eyes at me and in a roundabout way said if an elderly resident came up to me I was only allowed to say a couple of words to them before calling a care to come and take them away. She was so damn rude that is not how you interview people at all and I am taking it further
