& Process

It was a pretty involved interview process with several rounds. The last big one was a virtual power round that lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I talked with a bunch of the leaders there, and they were all really good people with sensible questions. I actually got some solid feedback after my interview. The bummer is that the job I was going for got put on the back burner, so all that time was kind of wasted when they said, 'We like you, you did great, but we can't approve the budget right now because priorities have shifted.' It's super annoying, and this place needs to get better at predicting which jobs will actually be open!

After seeing positive CapTech reviews, I applied online. A few days later, HR called for an initial phone screen with some tricky behavioral questions, which I handled well. Later that same day, I received an invitation for a technical interview. The interviewer was friendly and put me at ease, unlike others who jump straight into questions. This interviewer was intelligent and focused on my resume, asking questions specific to the technologies I listed, such as Spring web mvc, and Spring jdbc vs hibernate, and consultant-related questions. These were different from typical online questions and required hands-on experience. After passing the technical interview, I was invited to their Reston, VA office for a three-round final interview. The office was impressive, with amenities like ping pong and large screens, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The interviewers evaluated my experience and how I'd handle tasks, asking some tricky questions that required thinking time. Overall, the process was smooth, and everyone was friendly. Captech offers competitive benefits and salary. While I had a better opportunity, I would have considered joining Captech given their strong growth potential.

I had a phone interview that went well, and then they asked me to come in for an in-person interview at their office. I interviewed with one person. I was about 10 minutes late because I was coming from work, which is not in the immediate area, and I got stuck in some unexpected traffic. I know that might not look good, but things happen. This seemed to upset them. The interview questions were okay, about average difficulty. I did make a silly mistake on one answer. I just got the impression they were already planning to reject me. The office environment seemed pretty nice.
