Behavioral Technical

The hiring process involved a TA screening, a technical interview, and a final 'power day' which was 2.5 hours long and included interviews with 4 different people. In total, I interviewed with 6 different people, which felt a bit excessive and could have been more efficient. However, the TA did a good job of making the overall experience pleasant and communicated well throughout, which is rare these days. Ultimately, they said they needed someone with prior consulting experience, which was strange feedback. I'll be starting a similar role at a more well-known consulting agency in the new year.

Behavioral Presentation

I got interviewed through the on-campus career center. I networked a lot with them, did mock interviews, went to career fairs, and attended professional presentations. They were really nice, young, and laid-back people. I heard back from them the same night as the on-campus interview – they were super quick. Two weeks later, I had an office visit in Richmond. There was a reception the night before at the hotel. Lots of drinks, people, and I even met the CEO. It was a really friendly and genuine atmosphere, very laid-back. The next day, I had two interviews with a Principal, a Manager, and a Sr. Manager, with two people in each interview. I heard back about two days later and got an offer. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I applied and got an interview through the career fair at Virginia Tech. First, I had an on-campus interview with two employees where they asked some easy behavioral questions like 'Why did you choose Virginia Tech?'. Then, I had a second round interview on-site in Richmond, VA. This round had three interviews: two tougher behavioral interviews with two employees each, and then a case study with one employee. The case study was pretty hard and involved figuring out the order for different features of a new website.
