First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capstone Consultants.
Marketing
The first round was a video interview where they recorded staff asking questions and you recorded your answers. Then, I had a second round interview for an hour and a half. They explained the hours (Monday-Saturday, 11AM-9PM) and that the salary was mostly commission based. They discussed the job, the difference between marketing and sales, and how the role involves four stages: training, marketing and selling, and training others. The interviewer showed me an example of a door-to-door marketing and sales presentation for AT&T products. Right after, the interviewer sent me into a third round with the CEO, which was 10 minutes. It was very fast-paced, and they offered training, but the hours and commission-based pay weren't what I was looking for.

Junior Management
So the first interview was a phone call where she asked me about my sales experience and my background. She was particularly interested in my military experience, like going overseas and dealing with customers. Once she knew I had customer interaction experience, she got pretty excited. The dress code for the interview was business professional, which was straightforward. The next interview was similar, but this time with several management people. They seemed really interested in what I could bring to their company. They explained that their company sells AT&T Uverse to customers in the Charlotte area and nearby. My role would involve shadowing another manager. I had been told in the phone interview that I'd be in sales, marketing, or accounting, but that wasn't the case.

Management
I applied online and got contacted by the HR Manager a few days later. She went over my resume and asked some qualifying questions before setting up my first interview for the next day. When I got to the office, the vibe was really fun and everyone seemed young. The location in Dilworth was nice too. The first interview was short, and the interviewer was professional yet fun, asking great questions about my long-term goals and personality. I was called back that same evening for a full-day second round. I met up with someone who played college football, and he showed me what the entry-level roles are like and shared his story about getting promoted here. During lunch, he explained the company's advancement structures.

Account Manager
I applied to Capstone Consultants and the next day got a call for a preliminary interview. When I got there, I met with a hiring manager who said it'd be a quick meet and greet with basic questions and a job description. He mentioned a second interview would be a full day job shadow from 2-8 if I was selected. I got invited back for the second interview and arrived at 2 p.m. I was paired with a top corporate trainer, and we left the office for the day. In the car, they explained the day's agenda and marketing differences for AT&T U-verse, and how leads work. We went to customers' houses for face-to-face marketing. After lunch, where the advancement structure and four phases to management were explained (which made sense, being merit-based and commission-based, though a bit intimidating), we interacted with more customers. By the end of the day, we helped two people set up new AT&T accounts. The trainer made over $200 in 5 hours.
- Can you explain the distinctions between direct and indirect marketing strategies?
- How do you interpret the law of averages?
