Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capital One.
Customer Service Representative
It started with a phone screen where they asked some basic questions about the job, which was pretty easy and the recruiter was really nice. The next interview was a two-parter. First, we went over my resume and discussed the position in depth to see if it was a good fit. After that, there was a behavioral interview using the STAR method. Both interviewers were great and happy to answer any questions I had.
- Can you share an example of when you assisted a customer with a financial issue?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process was split into 2 parts, a culture fit and behavioral assessment, which took at most 30 minutes. The whole process was quite smooth and the interviewers were helpful and very professional. They helped me through the questions and provided guidance so I could give the best answers. You could tell they were really focused on getting an accurate understanding of the candidate and their personality.
- Describe a situation where you had to resolve an issue independently without a supervisor's help.
Customer Service Representative
Don't waste your time applying for this remote customer service position. They post it frequently, only to put you through a rigorous process before rejecting you. The video interview was incredibly unprofessional. The first manager appeared as a cartoon character, and the second manager didn't even show their face on camera, ending the call abruptly and sarcastically. If you have prior experience, they won't hire you. The recruiter might call just to seem busy.
