First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capital One.
Senior Associate
It began with a call from HR. They went through the qualifications listed on the job posting and asked if I met them. I was asked about my interest in the position and company, along with some questions about immigration status. Afterward, I was given a link to complete an online assessment. It wasn't timed, but they suggested finishing it in under two hours. This assessment included modules on personality, work experience, problem-solving, and collaboration style. Some parts were quite fast-paced, and the system prompted me to answer without much thought. I couldn't go back to change any answers.
- Which approach would you be most and least likely to use to solve this problem?
- Which personality traits are most and least like you?
Senior Associate
it was two rounds, the first round was a mini-case and the second round had 2 cases. they focused on break-even analysis, profit-loss analysis, and weighted average calculation, mixing qualitative and quantitative aspects.
- What factors do you take into account?
- Can you explain break-even analysis?
- How would you compare costs?
Associate
Very tedious process with almost no communication. The recruiter first canceled the first interview literally minutes before it was scheduled to start. Ironically, in the email canceling it, they were congratulating themselves for being "ahead of it." After several more rounds of interviews, I was ultimately unimpressed with how the process went and the lack of transparency.
- Could we possibly reschedule our meeting for the following week?
