Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capital Group.
Administrative Assistant
Applied through LinkedIn Recruiter and the recruiter contacted me quickly via text, which was convenient. They scheduled online interviews pretty fast. The interviews were very conversational with specific behavioral questions about the job. I had interviews with the recruiter, the hiring manager, and another attorney over WebEx. Everyone was really nice and focused on how I'd fit with the team. Even though I didn't get the job, I made it to the final round. The company has great benefits and seems like a great place to work. I'll probably apply again.
- How would you collaborate with other administrative staff?
- How would you manage multiple competing tasks?
- What is your strategy for supporting four or more attorneys simultaneously?
Administrative Assistant
First, I had a phone call with a Hiring Manager. After that, I had an in-person interview with another Hiring Manager that lasted one hour and had many "what would you do if..." questions. This Hiring Manager was very professional. Then, I interviewed with two Managing Directors for 1 1/2 hours. They were both very professional and the interview went very well. The final step was meeting several assistants. There were two finalists and neither of us got an offer because there wasn't enough chemistry with the assistants. I think the process is flawed. If chemistry with assistants is important, candidates should meet them first, then the MDs. The whole thing took a month.
- How would you handle a difficult boss?
Executive Assistant
I applied through a headhunter. I had interviews with 7 people from the company globally (UK, Switzerland, and Milan). Then... oops... they decided to change the job description. It's absurd and shows no respect for candidates.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Could you share some past experiences that are applicable to this role?
- What can you tell me about your personality?
