Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capital Group.

The whole thing was behavioral. I got an on-campus interview super fast after applying. They had an informal Q&A the night before. The first interview was only 30 mins and really just a chat about my extracurriculars and interests, not so much about why I wanted to work there. Then I went to LA for the final round, and they flew me out. I had three 40-minute interviews back-to-back, followed by lunch with current Associates. They asked why I was interested in Capital Group and went over my resume. Nothing technical, still behavioral. Everyone was really down-to-earth and friendly, and it wasn't competitive or stressful at all. The super day wrapped up by 1pm, and I got the offer within a week. It was a great experience.

Gisela Robles was my main point of contact for this interview process, which lasted about 2-3 months. There were around 7 interviews, each about 45 minutes long. This is my second time interviewing with Capital Group and it was pretty much the same experience. I had to wait a couple of weeks to hear back from the HR person. After following up twice, she finally got back to me and said they hired someone with more experience, which is weird because these are entry-level jobs. I tried to get more details on what I could have done differently, but she just said she'd reply when she could. It's been a few weeks and still no response. It feels like they're not focused on growing their employees and just want the most experienced people out there. I wouldn't bother interviewing with them again.

I went through 4 interviews, each taking about 45-75 minutes, with different experts. They seemed really interested in what I said, asked good questions, and praised the company a lot. It felt like a big waste of time and resources though. The recruiter said I was a strong candidate, but they ended up hiring someone more junior internally. I did enjoy the interviews up until that point.
- Can you explain your understanding of the subject matter?
- How did you apply this knowledge within a Banking setting, as opposed to Capital or Investment Management?
