First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capita.
Change Manager
It's a simple 2 stage interview process. The questions are pretty standard, covering both your competencies for the role and how well you'd fit the company culture based on their values. You'll usually have multiple interviewers, and the questions will be split evenly between them. It's not a bad process, but its simplicity might put you off since most other companies ask harder, more nuanced questions. So, prep for the role should focus on the big categories like readiness, impact, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Can you explain how you'd evaluate organizational readiness?
Team Manager
I applied online and then internal resourcing got in touch to do a screen interview. After that, I was invited to a 3-hour on-site assessment at Capita with two people: one HR resource and one Operations Manager. The assessment included an icebreaker, a scenario-based group activity, a presentation, and a competency-based interview with questions. They shared cool insights into the work environment, the job specifics, and responsibilities. The interviewers were also happy to share why they like the company and their own experiences. Everyone was really nice throughout the whole process, from the reception staff to the hiring team.
- Can you share an instance of customer service delivery you were involved in?
- Tell me about a situation where a new process was implemented and faced resistance.
- What actions would you take upon noticing a decline in a team member's performance?
Head of Department
First, there was a phone interview to screen my CV against the job description. Then, I had another phone interview with the recruiting manager to dive deeper into my specific experience. The last step was a face-to-face interview focused on competencies. The job was advertised on LinkedIn and applying was super easy.
- Can you describe your ability to manage a department through a period of transformation?
