Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capgemini Engineering.
Intern
I applied via LinkedIn, and they called me for some initial questions. Then they contacted me again for a video call interview. During the interview, they asked typical questions about my strengths and aspirations. Afterwards, I had a small test on some basic knowledge.
- What makes you the right candidate and what are your career goals?
Intern
The interview kicks off with a quick intro from the recruiter and the company. Then, you'll introduce yourself and talk about your background. After that, the recruiter will ask specific questions to see if your skills and qualifications match the job. This might involve technical questions, case studies, or practical tests. They'll also look at your career history, past experiences, achievements, and responsibilities, asking about previous jobs, why you left, and what you learned. Beyond technical skills, they'll also assess your soft skills, like problem-solving, decision-making, stress management, teamwork, and communication. Towards the end, you'll get a chance to ask questions about the company, the role, or the team, showing your interest and clarifying anything important. Finally, the recruiter will outline the next steps in the hiring process, like a second interview, further assessments, or the final decision, and mention any timelines.
- Tell me about yourself and your professional background.
- What are your main strengths and skills?
- Why are you interested in this role and our company?
Intern
First, there was a phone contact. Then, about two weeks after, the first interview happened. It was split into two parts. The first part was with a Business Manager and focused on my CV, covering my academic background, a description of previous work experience, and some general technical questions about practices and tools for the position. In the last part, a principal consultant asked other general concepts about the job field. I got the offer about 2 months later.
- Tell me about your academic background.
- Describe your previous work experience.
- Can you answer some general technical questions about practices and tools relevant to this position?
