Sales Representative
Kinda sad. They target fresh meat out of college that are having a hard time finding a job to start their careers. They hype the job up and tell you you can become a manager really fast and make all this money. Seems too good to be true and it is. This is nothing but a pyramid scheme. I applied online and got a phone call interview within like 5 hours of applying. They brought me in for a second interview in person where I spoke with the CEO of the company and was asked basic questions and he just made this job sound like the best thing in the world. 3rd interview was a ride along with a door to door sales person. It’s laugh out loud funny how bad this job is. During my ride along I just watched this 23 year old guy getting turned down left and right by people he was soliciting. It was sad to see. The turnover rate here is probably sky high and that’s why my interview and offer process was so fast. They probably have to hire multiple people every couple weeks to keep a steady flow of employees. There’s no telling how many people go through this revolving door of a company. Wouldn’t want anyone to go through this experience.

Account Representative
A recruiter from Cape Reserve's HR team reached out about the Account Representative role. I wasn't sure what the job entailed even after some online searching, but I went ahead with the interview. They did a quick phone screening where I asked about the specifics of the role, but it remained unclear. I was only told it would involve client-facing work and that there was a management cross-training component. The interviews were pretty basic, and it became apparent it was a sales role midway through. I suspect I wouldn't get a second interview because I'm not looking for a pure sales job. Cape Reserve seems like a good company, though - it's young, has a vibrant culture, and offers a solid opportunity for driven individuals starting in sales and marketing.
- In a 20-minute interaction with a group, what's one misconception they'd all likely form about you?
Marketing Associate
So, for the job title, I'm not sure what it would have been, I put a question mark there. The interview itself was pretty easy and I had a good time. The people I met were really nice. It wrapped up in about 15 minutes. They then wanted me to come back the next day for a second interview where I'd shadow someone all day. But, I found out the job was door-to-door sales, so I passed on the second interview. It's probably a great place for certain people, but it wasn't the right fit for me.

Account Manager
The interview was pretty easy and straightforward. It started with a quick 10-15 minute chat, then a second round where I got to shadow another account manager for the entire day to get a feel for the role. Super important info was missing though, like the fact that the job is commission-only and has no benefits.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
