First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capco.
Strategy Consultant
I interviewed with Capco's NYC office - it was a smooth and fast process, taking less than 3 weeks. Everyone was really communicative, responsive, and friendly. The questions were mostly basic and conversational, like 'tell me about yourself' or asking for an example of a past situation. The process started with a recruiter call, followed by interviews with three people at different levels within the firm. Each interview lasted about 30 minutes and was conducted over Teams with cameras on.
- Can you share an instance where you failed to meet client expectations or deadlines?
Associate Consultant
It was a pretty tough but also fun interview process. First, I submitted my application. Then there was a video questionnaire. After that, I had a case study along with a virtual interview. The final step was an in-person interview at their office. The case study was pretty cool because it gave me a feel for what the job is actually like. I had to make a presentation using PowerPoint based on the case study prompt and then present my findings to a Principal Consultant from Capco. They also asked me questions for about 45 minutes.
- What three words would your CEO use to describe you if I called them right now?
Associate Consultant
The recruitment process includes an online assessment followed by a virtual assessment day, if selected. The virtual assessment was scheduled for 3 hours, comprising an introduction of candidates, 3 individual interviews (20 minutes each), and an hour-long group case study interview. It was a pleasant experience, however, 3 personality-based interviews seemed redundant, albeit I understand the intention, which is to look for consistency and authenticity of answers from candidates; I believe it could be refined with more precise questions.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- What is a typical day like for a consultant?
- Do you have any questions about my CV?
