Community Manager
It was a great hiring and interview process from start to finish. Communication was clear and timely, and the team did a great job setting expectations around each stage. There were multiple interview rounds which gave me the chance to meet different managers and team members, which I really appreciated as it helped me get a good sense of the company and how the teams work together. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, easy to chat to, and genuinely open to answering questions about the role, the culture, and the challenges the team is working on. It felt like a two-way conversation rather than a one-sided interview, which made the whole process feel thoughtful and well run.
- Can you share your experience in community management?
- What was the size of the community you managed, and how did you achieve its growth?
- What tools are you familiar with for community management?
Community Manager
My experience interviewing for the Community Manager role at Canva was quite disappointing, even though I was really excited and met all the qualifications. After applying, I waited about three weeks to hear back. Then, a 'Talent Team' member called me for a casual phone chat, though she was a bit late. She said I'd hear back from the hiring manager within 24 hours, but I never did. A week later, I followed up about my application and any feedback. I got a very impersonal email saying they weren't moving forward, with no feedback. I replied expressing continued interest and how I fit the job, but never got any response, which felt unprofessional. During the initial call, the Talent Team member seemed distracted and didn't seem to be listening well, asking questions that were already covered in my answers. This lack of communication and acknowledgment after the interview left me with a negative impression.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself, and have you had experience working in universities and schools?
- Regarding your flexibility, would you be able to travel to London on a regular basis?
- Finally, is there any other information you think we should be aware of?
Social Media Coordinator
It was a nice interview overall. The atmosphere was relaxed, not forced or uncomfortable, which helped me feel calmer. The interviewer was very pleasant and approachable.
- What is your total years of experience?
