& Process

Applied through the website and had the first interview in a couple of weeks. It was a basic, informative interview, nothing really job-related. The second round got scheduled in a couple of weeks again. A friendly group of people hopped on the screen, and it was a great time talking with them. They went through my portfolio and asked questions about my portfolio, prior jobs, and my reason for applying to cannondesign. Overall, it was an average level and friendly interview.

The entire process was good, and I did well on the assessment. I waited for their reply and after a week, since I didn't hear back, I sent a follow-up. They then said they were closing the position. It's frustrating because if they didn't want me, they could have rejected me after the second round. If they chose someone else, they could have just said they're not moving forward instead of closing the position. The delay in getting a rejection is disappointing. If they didn't want to proceed, they should have communicated within a few days after the round. The interviewers in the second round were positive. They should clearly communicate if they don't want a candidate before the final round so the candidate can look elsewhere instead of waiting for their response.

I felt like the outcome of the interview was predetermined and they weren't genuinely looking to hire anyone at that moment. Despite my extensive background in residential and commercial projects, the interviewer seemed unwilling to accept my interest in transitioning to healthcare design. I found this aspect quite discouraging. Additionally, a colleague of mine had a negative experience due to the very slow response times from the company.
