Technical Behavioral Group

Had 2 phone screens first, one with an associate and another with the MD who leads the group. After the phone screens, we had an in-person meeting with the whole group. The group had just formed, so the process wasn't as standard as typical IB interviews. There were some regular technical questions, but mostly we talked about fit and personal motivations.

Technical Behavioral

Had 1 round with a senior banker. It was a mix of technical and behavioral questions, pretty standard stuff. They really wanted to know if I understood how deals work, like how a sell-side pitch is done and the key steps in a sell-side deal from the teaser all the way to closing.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain the process of a sell-side pitch?
  • What are the key stages of a sell-side deal, from the initial teaser to the final closing?

Behavioral Technical

I submitted my application online through my university's career website. The whole process spanned about 10 days. My first interview was a 1:1 on campus, conducted by a university alum who is currently an Analyst at Canaccord. The interview primarily consisted of behavioral questions like 'What's your story?', 'Why are you interested in Finance?', and 'Why Canaccord?'. There were also a few technical questions, covering topics such as cash flows and DCFs.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you tell me about your most significant weakness?
  • What is your greatest weakness?
