First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Campari Group.
Brand Manager
The interview process took practically 6 months, which was bad luck. I had one interview with a Central Europe HR person, then with the Marketing Director, then with a Belgium HR person, then with the General Manager, and finally with the new Marketing Director. It felt like I was applying to NASA. I received zero feedback at the end. I found it very disrespectful and their approach was generally authoritarian. It left a bitter taste about the company and its products.
- What are the major challenges in the wine and spirits sector?
Brand Manager
I applied for an ABM role in New York back in January and got an invite for a first round interview pretty quickly, just a few days after applying. It was a 30-minute video call. The person interviewing me didn't turn their camera on, which felt a bit strange, but I guess it happens. They didn't ask any of the usual stuff like "Why Campari?" or "Tell me about yourself." Instead, they wanted to know about recent go-to-market campaigns I’ve done and how my current team is set up. When I tried to ask some basic questions about the job and the company, the interviewer just said "hmm, I don’t know." And when I asked what they liked about the company, they replied, "I didn’t think I would like it at first." It was pretty unprofessional and turned me off. They did mention they "don’t ghost" and that I should hear back the next week about what’s next. Well, two weeks went by with no word, so I followed up, but got no response. After another few weeks, I followed up a second time and finally got a short reply saying they chose another candidate.
- Can you tell me about the most recent go-to-market campaign you were involved in?
- Could you outline the structure of your current team?
- What questions do you have for me?
Brand Manager
Had a quick intro call with HR (in French & English), then met face to face with the group manager. Passed that round, then met the marketing director and got hired. They were nice and upfront the whole time. Good idea to read up on the local regulations and challenges of the spirits industry.
- What value would you add to our brands?
- What market opportunities and trends do you identify?
- Can you describe your typical 'aperitivo' moments?
