The first round was with the hiring manager, where we mainly discussed my past experience and the expectations for this role, along with some behavior questions. It was pretty easy to pass to the next round. The technical round had two parts: first, an easy-to-medium Leetcode question, and second, a knowledge check on basics, cloud services, and distributed system knowledge. I managed the coding question but didn't do well on the knowledge part.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I had an initial 30-minute chat with a recruiter. They asked me a bunch of behavioral questions and some questions about the technologies I've learned and how long I've been using them. It was a good conversation. I asked about what happens next since we're all social distancing. The next steps will be a call with the hiring manager, then an online coding test, followed by a 3-hour video call that includes a paired coding test and more behavioral questions. I'm excited to see if I move forward.

Technical Coding Behavioral

Contacted for a coding test via email, which took days to arrive. A simple question was not answered via email. The recruitment team seemed slow and there was a lack of communication. A code review took over 2 weeks for a response. After no offer, I sent a thank you and asked for detailed feedback but received no response. A recruiter handled all communication, and the head of the department recently left. The first coding test round took nearly 3 weeks.
