First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cameo.
Sales Account Executive
The first interview is chill. You'll probably meet with a hiring manager and an HR person a few times. If you pass that, you might get a mock 'project' related to your job here. They say to spend 1-2 hours on it and have fun, but if you only do that, you'll probably be unprepared for the next part. You need to know the product well enough to create a concept/materials and an outreach plan, and then pitch their product back to them, asking follow-up questions. After that presentation, you'll get live feedback on your sales pitch. The team was nice, and the process is pretty easy. HR sent a generic email with feedback at the end, but then ghosted me when I tried to schedule that follow-up.

Great experience from start to finish! I was reached out to by a recruiter and scheduled a screening call from there. Following the screening, the 2nd round had 2 back to back 1:1 interviews with the Sales Manager & another AE on the team. The final round was then a 2 part Case Study/Mock Pitch where you had to compile an outreach strategy (part 1) and then walk through a mock pitch in which the Cameo interviewers role played as the client. The whole process took about 2-3 weeks. The conversations I had during the screening and 2nd round made me even more excited for the opportunity and confirmed that it would be a tremendous culture fit. They reiterated that they have opportunities and experiences (quarterly team-specific offsites, weekly touchbases, etc) to ensure you're able to build relationships with a fully remote workforce. Coming from another tech/startup company, I can say the additional perks and benefits they offer are 10/10 and right on par with top players in the tech space (if not better). The Cameo for Business vertical is still being fully baked out in terms of subteams, some supporting systems, and outbound strategy (they're receiving TONS of inbounds) but that's something that attracted me to the role even more. You have the opportunity to be on the ground floor and build out the C4B vertical (which they refer to as a startup within a startup). You can tell they're looking for top-tier talent to really make this new line of business explode. I couldn't be more excited to start.
- What impact do you think you could have on the business?
Account Executive
Started with a call with the recruiting manager, then met with the team manager. After that, I got a case study to find outreach contacts, figure out an outreach strategy, and prepare a demo pitch for the leaders. The whole thing took about two weeks. My only feedback is that the case study had too many requirements. It said it would take 1-2 hours, but it took way longer, especially the pitch part. They left the pitch open for creativity, but I think giving more info on the usual goals of the call, what usually happens next, and how the role connects with AMs/clients before I started would have been useful and saved time.
- Can you share an example of something you had to learn and improve on in the past?
