Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cambridge Associates, LLC.
Research Associate
It was a 5-round process with a phone interview with HR, an associates interview, a case study, an MD interview, and then a final round with people from another office that included a small case study. The whole process was intense but really gave a good feel for the job. Most people on the team were super friendly and nice, though there was one person who wasn't. The team is pretty small and they're really committed to being a global organization, which means they need agreement from all offices before they can hire someone. It feels a bit inflexible given how fast things move these days.

HR screens resumes, followed by a phone screen from the department. If you pass that, you'll have a first round open house interviewing with a member from each functional team (hiring manager or team lead). If they like you, they'll invite you back for a 2nd and final round. This includes interviews with assistant managers, the manager, a panel with team members/peers, a writing sample, and a final concerns session with the hiring manager to address any remaining issues. If those are satisfied, HR will present an offer, pending a background check.

This was a pretty involved interview process for the role. I ended up talking to about 20 different people across three different days. Some of the interviews were one-on-one with managers, and others were group sessions with my potential peers. It was very focused on behavioral questions, and they really wanted to get a sense of my long-term commitment to the firm. Overall, the experience was decent.
