First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Call Box.
Sales
I applied on their website and they emailed me asking for the best time for a phone call. I had to nudge them a bit to get a time scheduled. We ended up having two phone calls with sales managers that went well. After the second call, the HR person called me and seemed confused, like they didn't know I'd already spoken with the second manager. They told me hiring was on hold. It's probably for the best, as there seemed to be some red flags with the company.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Junior Developer
I had to complete an easy Cold fusion test, which was a bit challenging at first since I couldn't test my code on a CFM server. The phone interview involved basic questions about my previous job. They also asked why I chose my college, which was a bit odd. I liked visiting the office, and it was pretty cool; I even met some people from the sales team. I also had a long conversation with the CEO, lasting about an hour, and he seemed well-informed about me.
- What kinds of projects do you find engaging?
- Can you talk about the job you recently left?
- What was your reason for choosing your college?
Associate Consultant
I was referred to the company by a current employee, so I've heard it can take longer for other people who apply online. The entire interview process lasted about 2-3 weeks. I had to answer some questions via email, did a phone interview, and participated in a case study during my in-person interview. Overall, everything went really well and I was very happy with how friendly everyone was to me. I felt that I did well in my interview, but it was also my first interview since graduating college so I think I didn't do as well as I thought I did.
- What career path are you seeking?
Software Developer
First round was online: a Wonderlic test and a coding test. Both were pretty easy. For the coding test, the main thing was just making sure it worked and that I didn't miss any obvious edge cases. Then, Stage 2 was a phone screen with someone from the dev team. Stage 3 was on-site, which had a behavioral interview and a technical interview. The behavioral part was about initiative and drive. The technical part was also pretty easy, and they were more interested in how I thought through problems rather than looking for the absolute best time or memory optimized solutions. Stage 4 was a contingent offer, which required passing a drug screen and background check.
- Behavioral questions focused on your drive and initiative; side projects were viewed very positively.
- Technical question 1: finding issues within provided code.
- Technical question 2: a problem similar to a Leetcode medium difficulty question.
