The application process was easy. There was a quick interview screen and conversation. After that Calix just falls apart. HR doesn't follow up. Managers seem to be playing musical chairs, moving around. Roles change, get filled internally, or are put on hold. Candidates have no idea what the process is. I didn't get a good feeling that they know what they're doing or want to do. The job involves social media and generating leads for large telco providers. They seem to want to hear what they want to hear. The company is arrogant, not having made a profit for a long time. Glassdoor reviews suggest it's not a happy place. It's probably lucky not to get sucked into this climate. Avoidable.

The first interview was a phone call where they explained the position and asked about my past job experience. After that, they scheduled a second in-person interview. They sent an agenda beforehand so I could prepare and know who I'd be meeting. I felt really welcome and got a good sense of the organization and the role. Everyone I interacted with during the interview process was professional and friendly.

I applied and a few weeks later I got contacted. There was a 20 minute phone screen with the recruiter. The recruiter was really nice, professional, and knew their stuff. I actually felt better about possibly working there after talking with them, even though I had some doubts from reading reviews online, but I didn't mention that. The next step was supposed to be sending my resume to the hiring manager, but I heard nothing back for about a month until I got that generic rejection email. The job was still up when I last checked. I can't say what the hiring manager is looking for, but I thought the recruiter was great.
