I applied online and then saw a sign outside their place. It was my first choice because of the location and the benefits. I went in and gave them my resume and cover letter, and they asked me to come back the next day for an interview. I went in the next day and interviewed with the director. It went really well, and when we talked salary, I told her what I was hoping for but that it was negotiable. She said they wanted to offer me the job but needed to check my credentials to finalize the salary and would do it that afternoon. So, I turned down other interviews because I thought I'd get an offer that day or the next. When I didn't hear back, I messaged them before they closed to check in. She said she'd be in touch by the end of the day. I still didn't hear anything, so I waited another business day and reached out again but never got a response. I was really disappointed because I felt strung along and would have preferred to be told they weren't moving forward or that we weren't a good fit. It really set me back in my job search and hurt my confidence. In the end, I'm glad it worked out because I hope they found someone, as they seemed really desperate for teachers (but maybe not that desperate).

The hiring process was easy going and professional. I was taken on a tour of the school and spoken with about the school and its philosophy. I was introduced to the current teachers and they were all kind and welcoming. Then the director and I went into her office and had a conversation about my experience and what I wanted from the company.

The first interview was super positive. They asked me about 10 questions, mostly hypothetical 'how would you respond' scenarios about childcare. Then, we toured the school. We set a date for me to come back for an 'observation.' On that day, I visited two different classrooms for 30 minutes each to get a feel for them and see where I might fit. Afterwards, the director met me and we discussed pay and benefits in her office. We reviewed handbooks, I completed some paperwork, and then we picked a start date once my fingerprint results were in.
