Software Engineer
It was a technical round and an HR round. The technical round covered basic Node.js and backend development. The HR round asked for my introduction, hobbies, educational background, experience, and salary details.
- What is your basic understanding of Node.js?
Early Childhood Educator
The interview process is pretty simple. When you arrive, you meet with the Director of the daycare. They start by discussing the details of the position you applied for. While giving an overview, they'll ask questions about your previous experience with children. You'll also be presented with one or two classroom-based scenarios. They want to know what actions you would take to either calm the situation, prevent it, or both. Once that's finished, depending on whether they have more applicants to interview, you'll find out if you got the job or if you're still being considered. If you don't get the job on the spot, they'll call you within 1-2 days to let you know if you're hired.
- My response was to keep the kids on a daily well-timed schedule. Having a daily routine will help prevent outbursts or difficulty with transitions because the kids will know what to expect. I also said setting a timer for each activity. If a timer is set, it will help the teacher in the room keep track of time. I’d then give two announcements, one 10 minutes and another 5 minutes prior to transition time. With stability in the classroom, it helps to prevent those outbursts. Still, kids have bad days just like adults, and if I ran into an issue, I’d try different methods to help create a safe space for the child to calm down. If I feel like I’ve exhausted all my options, I’d reach out to either management or other staff to help get the situation under control. Every kid is different, and what works for some may not work for others.
Preschool Teacher
I applied online and then saw a sign outside their place. It was my first choice because of the location and the benefits. I went in and gave them my resume and cover letter, and they asked me to come back the next day for an interview. I went in the next day and interviewed with the director. It went really well, and when we talked salary, I told her what I was hoping for but that it was negotiable. She said they wanted to offer me the job but needed to check my credentials to finalize the salary and would do it that afternoon. So, I turned down other interviews because I thought I'd get an offer that day or the next. When I didn't hear back, I messaged them before they closed to check in. She said she'd be in touch by the end of the day. I still didn't hear anything, so I waited another business day and reached out again but never got a response. I was really disappointed because I felt strung along and would have preferred to be told they weren't moving forward or that we weren't a good fit. It really set me back in my job search and hurt my confidence. In the end, I'm glad it worked out because I hope they found someone, as they seemed really desperate for teachers (but maybe not that desperate).
- What salary are you looking for?
- What's your experience?
- What age group do you like teaching?
Team Lead
It was a two-round interview process. The first round was with the director, and the second was with the assistant director. They were really interested in whether I had certifications and was up-to-date with my vaccinations. We also took a tour of the campus and talked about different branches.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
- At what level are you seeking to work?
- Have you worked with children before?
