Customer Service Representative
They asked a lot of questions, more than I expected, but most were standard. A key thing they want you to know is about their rewards club. You'll do a role play where you need to bring up the rewards club as part of your sales pitch, encouraging people to join or use their existing rewards.
- Tell me about your passion.
- Can you describe a time you provided excellent customer service?
- Describe a situation where something went wrong and explain what you did to resolve it.
Customer Service Representative
To get hired at Cabela's, which is an outdoor outfitting store, you'll want to know that hunters are a big part of their business. So if you don't enjoy outdoor activities like camping, hunting, or fishing, you might not be a good fit. After applying online, it usually takes less than a week to hear back about an interview. If you're applying to a new store that's not open yet, they might use a production line interview. Make sure to have your information ready, possibly on paper, in case you need to fill out a paper version of the online application. For mass hiring, after the interview, you might immediately do a drug test with a mouth swab, which is a good sign you'll be hired, or they might just thank you for your time and send you home. If it's an existing store, the process might be different, but you can always call HR after about a week to see if they need more info about you. It's important to connect with a person. Cabela's is described as an enthusiastic and fun company, accommodating to staff, but they expect integrity, honesty, and a lot of effort. They even have fun contests! If you really want to work there, not just for a job but for a place you look forward to, keep at it. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
- What's your background in retail?
- Describe how you would handle a really angry customer.
Customer Service Representative
It was a mass hiring event. I got there early to fill out paperwork. The interview itself was brief but covered everything. Everyone I met was really nice and helpful. The person interviewing me was pretty new to the company. About halfway through, the store manager came in to listen and take notes.
- What qualities define a great customer service associate?
- Can you share an instance where you delivered exceptional customer service?
