I was contacted by a recruiter and went through an onsite interview. The interview board had four people: the QA manager, a dev team member, and two other QA team members. I felt the interview went really well, I answered all the technical questions correctly and handled the behavioral part fine too. I was surprised not to get an offer. When I asked the recruiting company, they said I was seen as 'over-prepared,' which confused me. I was open about having been laid off from my previous company during a 10% downsizing, and maybe that worked against me.

There were 4 interview rounds. The first was a technical interview lasting 45 minutes, where they asked about my current project's core, testing basics, and mobile phone test cases. Since cloud computing is my domain, they asked questions about it. The second round, about 40 minutes, covered testing, puzzles, virtualization, and cloud computing, plus other tech on my CV like SharePoint. The third round was directorial, lasting 30 minutes, and was the toughest, requiring deep project knowledge and some behavioral questions. The fourth round was a short HR call under 10 minutes, just discussing salary and basic details.

It's a 3-round process: 2 technical and 1 HR. We'll let you know the result after all rounds, judging you based on cumulative performance. Technical rounds will assess your broad and deep technical skills in areas like DBMS, OS, and programming languages. Expect a question like 'test this calculator or bottle or watch or some random thing' just to see how you fit the role. The HR round is standard, covering leadership and character. A key question might be 'Why CA?'. You might also get random puzzles in one of the rounds.
