First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at C6 Bank.
Software Engineer
The whole interview happened at once, lasting just over 2 hours. It felt like 3 stages to me. First, I chatted with the tech team, they wanted to get to know me and my experiences, and asked stuff about microservices. Second, there was a short live coding session. They gave a problem with two use cases, and I had to code simple solutions. While coding, they asked about code scalability. Finally, the third stage was a mix of cultural fit and understanding the context. The recruiter involved the leader of the team I'd join, and we had a very light and relaxed chat. Even though it was long, it was cool to do it all at once because I was really excited. It didn't even feel like 2 hours passed. About 15 days later, I got and accepted the offer.
- Can you share your past experiences and professional journey?
- What's your understanding of microservices and their associated patterns?
- Tell me about code scalability and some design patterns you're familiar with.
Software Engineer
First, the interviewers will briefly introduce themselves (their roles, how long they've been with the company, their team, etc.) for about 10 minutes. Then, you'll have about 20 minutes to introduce yourself, covering your background, projects, and experience. The main part of the interview involves a collaborative whiteboard session where you'll tackle 1 to 2 challenges, which should take about 2 hours. Finally, there will be about 30 minutes for you to ask questions to the interviewers. The total interview time is approximately 3 hours.
- A programming challenge was presented.
- An architecture challenge was presented.
Senior Software Engineer
I was contacted on LinkedIn for a process. The recruiter called me but then ghosted me several times. With help from the person who contacted me, I proceeded with two interviews. The first one focused on my past job changes, which I didn't think was the best way to assess my skills. However, I did very well in the technical interview, demonstrating my knowledge and receiving very positive feedback, with them saying they wanted to see me on the team soon. But then, the bad part: I never got final feedback. I reached out to the contact person again, and they said they would follow up, but I still haven't heard back. They also mentioned it might have been a financial mismatch, but I'll never know. Extremely disappointed.
