C1 Consulting Interview Questions
& Process

I started interviewing with C1 back in March 2016, and the whole thing stretched on for more than three months. There were four rounds in total: first, a phone screen, then an online aptitude test with some basic behavioral questions, followed by a Skype case interview where I had to interpret data. The final step was an in-person interview at their Summit, NJ office, which included a few behavioral interviews, two case interviews, and a presentation I gave on a topic I picked. After the in-person part, they said I'd hear back within a week. I ended up waiting over three weeks without any news. In the fourth week, I got an email saying I wasn't selected for the Business Analyst role. It was a bit odd since I applied for a different position. It felt like they didn't bother to check which role I actually applied for when they sent the rejection. The interviewers seemed nice enough, and I think it could have been a good place to work, but the process felt a bit disorganized. They often took longer than they said to let me know if I was moving forward, which left me hanging.

I applied online and then a recruiting firm reached out a few weeks later. They set up a phone interview and then a Skype interview. The Skype interview was a few weeks after that, and it included a skills test where I had to look at, interpret, and fix slides with different information. I also sent in a writing sample. After passing those, I had an in-person interview in Atlanta with the two top managers. I presented my graduate research and then we had lunch. About a week later, the branch owner called me with an offer.

I was contacted by a recruiting company on behalf of C1. After I completed my skills assessment and case interview, I received zero communication from C1 or the recruiting agency, even though I followed up multiple times for weeks. I don't mind if they don't want to proceed, but I would have appreciated a prompt response. But, nothing. I've heard it's a horrible company to work for.

The final stage was an in-person interview at their office, involving case studies, behavioral questions, and a presentation. I had lunch with the entire NJ office, which was a great experience and made me feel very welcome. The company covered my accommodation for the overnight stay.
