Software Engineer Intern
The interview was pretty casual and took place over Zoom with two team leads. I ended up working with one of them.
- Can you walk me through your projects listed on your resume?
Software Developer
It started with an easy HackerRank question, then an HR Interview to chat about my experience and interests. After that, I interviewed with the head developer who asked about my strengths and experience. Everything seemed to go great until the last question. The job was listed as Remote, but they asked if I'd be willing to relocate and come into the office a couple of times a week. This is a bit of a bait-and-switch because I don't live nearby and applied specifically because it was Remote. This probably cost me the offer. What really got me was that after I was no longer a candidate, they ghosted me – no replies to emails or calls, and they didn't update my application status, which still says 'Under Review' months later. I'm fine with not getting an offer, but being ghosted is unprofessional. I won't be applying to this company again or recommending them.
- Could you describe a project you've completed that you feel particularly proud of?
Software Developer
They asked technical questions that covered a broad scope of my previous experiences. They didn't go into super fine detail, but they did ask specific questions about my experience and how I might do things differently or make improvements.
- Can you describe how you've deployed software you've previously developed?
